Taylor Harvey to play dedication concert on new Rodgers in Snow Hill, MD

Taylor Harvey will play the dedication concert on the new Rodgers Masterpiece 908 three manual organ recently installed in All Hallows Episcopal Church, Snow Hill, Maryland.  Rev. Ken Thom is Priest-in-Charge and Jim Bosworth is organist.

Taylor Harvey is a native of Roanoke, Virginia where he received his early musical training..  Mr. Harvey received his Bachelor of Music Degree and his Master of Church Music Degree from the  Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore with additional studies at Westminister Choir College in Princeton.  He studied organ with Clarence Snyder, Arthur Rhea and George Markey, and conducting with Ifor Jones and George Lynn..

 

He served as organist and choirmaster at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church from 1962 to 1972 and taught vocal music in the Baltimore City School system from 1966 to 1974.  He has played numerous organ recitals in Baltimore, Roanoke, VA, Washington, D. C., and New Jersey.

 

Retired from Asbury Church in 2003 after 28 years as organist and Director of Music and also from Salisbury University.  Mr. Harvey also has served as Dean of the Delmarva Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. 

 

Was organist at Christ Episcopal Church in Cambridge from 2003 until 2006 and is presently organist and principal musician at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Princess Anne, Maryland.
