Information: The new Rodgers 960 replaced an aging 14 rank Wicks pipe organ installed in two chambers in the front of the Sanctuary.

Information: Hector Olivera was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and started playing the pipe organ at age 3. At age six, he entered the Buenos Aires Conservatory to study harmony, counterpoint and fugue. In 1965, he was offered a scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where he continued his organ studies. He also studied privately with Dr. Vernon de Tar. In, 1968, he entered and won the National Improvisation Contest sponsored by the American Guild of Organists. Since 1987, Hector has released 20 recording including a live program from Japan. In 1992, Mr. Olivera had the unique opportunity to be the featured performer at both the National American Theater Organ convention and the 75th National American Guild of Organist convention. The AGO concert was held at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.

Information: Felix Hell was born September 14, 1985 in Frankenthal/Pfalz, Germany. His first piano lesson was at age seven. Eight months later he took his first organ lesson. In 1994, he took part in the Federal German competition for young musicians “Jugend musiziert” and received two First Prizes in organ playing. He repeated this winning streak in 1996, 1997 and 1999. Felix has given over 150 concerts in Europe and over 100 in the United States. He has played recitals at the National Cathedral and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception – both in Washington, DC, and the Wannamaker Organ in Philadelphia. He enrolled at The Julliard School in September 1999 as a student of John Weaver’s and in September of 2001 he will continue his studies with Dr. Weaver at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. He has recorded three CDs, which will be available at the concert. Felix’s hobbies include Harley Davidson motorcycles and flying airplanes.
